Free Veteran Services
There are many Catholic Charities offices that provide assistance for veteran's who are facing homelessness, unemployment, disabilities and transportation problems. If you have served one active day in any U.S. military branch and were discharged with anything other than dishonorable or in the case of national guard and reserve members (called by the President to one day active duty), then you qualify. Your household income cannot exceed 50 percent of the annual median income in your area. This is for anyone experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing your home. These are for single veterans, for married veterans and their families and for families with a veteran as the head of household. Here are a few offices that provide assistance to veteran's or their families who are facing homelessness.
To make an appointment you must have: a photo ID, DD Form 214, Proof of household income or lack thereof, Social security cards for all household members, Birth certificates for dependent children in the household, proof of imminent risk of homelessness.
